Juneau vs Ketchikan: The Closest Race in Alaska Cruising
Ketchikan was widely projected to pass Juneau in cruise passengers in 2026, for the first time ever. Current forecasts say it won't happen: roughly 1.69 million for Juneau against more than 1.6 million for Ketchikan — a gap of about 90,000 people, and the result of a policy rather than an accident.
