Port Sokhna on Egypt's Red Sea coast is the cruise gateway to Cairo and the Giza pyramids, about a 2.5-hour motorcoach transfer inland. Ships dock at a modern container-adjacent terminal with little to do dockside, so essentially all passengers take ship-sponsored excursions.
